Greetings and Welcome aboard, My hope is to acquaint you with some of what "The Ravenheart" is about and what it is not about. The Ravenheart was founded in 1990 for one reason, FUN. It is for FUN that we exist to this day. To go to events, and to host events dressed up like old movie pirates. And it's a Blast! We are not a historically accurate reenactment group, and we don't pretend to be. We will not concern ourselves with what ribbon is an appropriate color or what feather we put in our hat. Our time period is somewhere between the Spanish Armada (1588) and the launching of the first Space Shuttle (1981). We wear watches, glasses and pagers, and we use toilet paper, microwave ovens and cell phones. We are a group of Actors, Directors, Writers, Designers, Technicians, Swordmasters and Creative Individuals who like to dress up, spend time with our friends and have FUN. Many of us are involved outside The Ravenheart with other, more accurate reenactment groups, as well as educational groups, theatrical groups, swordplay demonstrations, motion pictures and television. We base our Ravenheart characters on old (and new) pirate movies, roll play games, childhood memories, classical literature, theme park rides, political figures, paperback novellas, cartoon characters, our wildest imagination and most of all, Pirates that say ARRRRRRRRR! So please enjoy the website, and the adventure we've tried to create herein, but don't expect it to be anything other than FUN. Sincerely,
